Nordjyske Jernbaner A/S (abbreviated NJ) is a Danish railway company operating in Vendsyssel. The company was formed in 2001 as a merger of Hjørring Privatbaner A/S (HP) and Skagensbanen A/S (SB).
Headquartered in Hjørring, the company is responsible for running the former HP and SB lines, i.e., Hjørring–Hirtshals and Frederikshavn–Skagen, respectively; additionally, the company runs freight trains on Banedanmark's Aalborg–Hjørring–Frederikshavn line.
Skagensbanen (Danish: The Skagen Railway) is a 39.7 km (25 mi) long railway in Denmark, going from Skagen to Frederikshavn. Skagensbanen is a part of Nordjyske Jernbaner.
The work started on July 26, 1889, and the railway opened on July 24. It was narrow gauge from 1890 until 1924, with a maximum speed limit of 30 km/h (19 mph). In 2005 the current Siemens Desiro trains came into service, and between Skagen and Hulsig, the maximum speed is 120 km/h (75 mph).
