1959 Diesel Multiple Unit

This is a typical example of a well preserved 1959 Swindon DMU. This one spent most of her career on the Ayrshire Line out of Glasgow Central High Level. Because of the strict Asbestos disposal regulations ,the costs of preservation were more than expected. She now has new flooring and refurbished seating. She takes the occasional outing on the B&KR. It's nice to see much interest on her renovations.

Comments:
Would this be the Class 126 unit, Nos. 51043 + 59404 + 51017, on the Bo'Ness & Kinneil Railway?
Apparently, following approval of a £180,000 grant from the heritage lottery fund, the two power cars, namely DMSL (Driving Motor Standard, Lavatory) 51017 & DMBSL 51043 (Driving Motor Brake Standard, Lavatory), went to the Lancastrian Carriage & Wagon at Heysham for restoration, which of course is now complete.

The restoration at Lancastrian C&W didn't go as planned. The job was finished at the Midland Railway Centre (Butterley) and at Bo'ness.

These were Ayrshire units as opposed to Glasgow to Edinburgh.
