Further to picture #8409; Signal Engineers' Saloon 45020-not 45030 as I said in that comment- out on an inspection in May 1987 with newly named 37411 INSTITUTION OF RAILWAY SIGNAL ENGINEERS at Partick in Glasgow.
It could be drawn or propelled as necessary, the large observation windows providing excellent views.
