T43 257MT43 BV DLL 257M at the locomotive depot in Nässjö on 8 October 2005. RPE stands for Repower and Engineering. In 2001 it was equipped with a new 1492 kW 1500 rpm Cummins LTTA-L4 engine, a main generator AMG 450 and the Bombardier control system MITRAC in order to reduce exhaustion and noise from the diesel engine.
The intention of this reconstruction was to prove, that it is possible to adapt even older locomotives to modern demands.
