Originally manufactured for SJ in 1986 by Nohab and KVAB as T44 number 409.
The locomotive has been equipped with a new diesel engine. The two-stroke diesel type V12 has been exchanged for a more environmental friendly four-stroke diesel, which reduces the fuel consumption with 20 percent and the carbon dioxide emission with up to 75 percent. The traction engines, however, are kept unchanged.
