Rc6 1422Rc6 1422, built by Asea in 1988 as the last Rc6-locomotive. For a short period at the beginning of the 2000’s it was upgraded to a top speed of 180 kmh and was intended to serve as replacement for the X2000 EMU's, when they for some reason or other did not function. The Rc6 1421 was also converted. The two locomotives got a new class designation: Rc7 and were together with a couple of passenger wagons painted dark blue and were called the “Blue-X”. However, because of i.a. brake problems the project was soon abandoned and the locomotives were back as class Rc6 engines again! But they kept their dark blue colour for some years.
Here the Rc6 1422 is arriving at the Central Station in Nässjö with an IC-train from Stockholm to Malmö on 15 August 2006.
