D821 at the West Somerset Railway

On the 12 June 2010 I attended the Diesel Gala at the West Somerset Railway. One of the guest locomotives was Warship D821 which is usually based at the Severn Valley Railway. D821 was the first BR mainline diesel to be preserved in the UK.

While some people claim that the prototype DELTIC was first it was always owned by English Electric and was never owned by BR.
