BNSF 9164Pulling Norfolk Southern coal train #736. This is a modern EMD SD70ACe. EMD is now a freestanding company owned by Catapillar Diesel. EMD was originally a part of General Motors but GM divested them a couple of years ago. This is the modern 6 axle locomotive that meets US EPA Tier 3 enviromental standards.
The coal it is pulling is heading to a large steam power plant in Middle Georgia. The RW Sherer power plant needs about 2 of these 115 car train per day to feed it's 4 hungry steam boilers.
